Financial Services Referrals
On-Site Referrals
At each free tax preparation site, there are knowledgeable Cash Coordinators that can explain an array of financial services to assist customers who would like to pursue a more long-term financial management plan. These services include:
- Splitting the refund into two or more accounts so that a portion may be saved
- Certificate of Deposit (CD) products, Savings Accounts and Savings Bonds to accommodate savings
- Merged credit reports from the three credit bureaus with scores and referrals to home ownership/credit counseling agencies
- Eligibility screening for state benefits and referrals to state agencies for enrollment.

Year-Round Referrals
Financial Education: Customers are referred to free financial education classes at the Delaware "Money School" – free workshops on a broad range of financial topics presented by volunteers, organized by the Delaware State Treasurer, in locations throughout the state.
Access to Credit: Customers receive referrals to Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corporation's "Ways to Work Family Loan Program" – a bank partnership that offering car loans with relaxed eligibility criteria for low and moderate income workers in New Castle County.
IDAs: Each customer is introduced to the "Delawareans Save Program" – an Individual Development Account (IDA) program where savings are matched providing workers with a 1:1 match of $1,500 for investments in home ownership, post secondary education, or small business development. The "TechnoSave Program" offers a smaller match for savers to invest in a high-quality refurbished computer.
